Austrian Offshore Championship 2017

2. Oktober 2017
Today on Monday, the second day of the Offshore Championship the termic wind was between five and seven knots. Again two races on an up and down course have been sailed.
In the one design class Binder was a premature starter and after following the flag X and comming back to have a correct start he was last at that moment - the race at the end was won by him again. He has now vier first places on his account.
At the ORC class Rudi Rieder was one, Peter Schicho the other race. Schicho now has three first places in the overall scoring.
For tomorrow the navigational race is planned.

1. Oktober 2017
On the first day of the championship there was no wind for training before noon. In the afternoon there was termikin front of Pakostane. There where two Up-and-down races with 7 to 12 knots from SE.
In the evening all participants got sekt from Szigetti and scampi and sepia risotto.

30. September 2017
All boats are registered and Biograd is ready for running the Austrian Offshore Championship.
We are waiting for perfect weather conditions with not to much winds...

On Saturday 23, 2017 the Austrian "Tag des Sports - Day of Sports" takes place in the Vienna Prater.
500.000 people will be there.
Like the passed years the lottery of the boats of the one design class for the Austian Championships will be done there under the authority of the Austrian Sailing Federation.
All competitors are warm welcome.

August 15, 2017
At entry closing there is only one yacht entered without spinnaker. Therefor the class ORC with spinnaker and the class ORC without spinnaker are combined to one scoring.

Februar 15, 2017
If you studied the new ORC-Certificates you will found out that there are no coefficients for Performance Line Scoring. This scoring is notpossible anymore and is substituted by Performance Curve Scoring.
Curves are more accurate than lines. There are not two coefficients but seven describing the performance of a boat for scoring.
On the fair in Tulln at 11.00 hrs and at 14.00 hrs the system will be introduced by Gert Schmidleitner on the Pitter-Corner in hall 10.

December 15, 2016
In 2017 there are some changes: The big title in the One Design Classwill be sailedon the brandnew Bavaria Cruiser 41S. The boats are used only one summer. Sailing with more equal material in offshore scene is not possible.
The ORC title will be sailed without any restrictions for boats with and without spinnaker in one scoring. The different performance will be scored with the ORC Rating System wich is quite accurate.
A new title is given in the One Design Class without spinnaker. The sailing will take part on Bavaria Cruiser 40S.

The date for the 2017 Championship ist fixed with 30.9. to 4.10. in Biograd.
